Billy’s Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser

I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to help more than 1.3 million Americans who are living with blood cancer.

Each year, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) launches its “Visionaries of the Year” fundraising campaign, and this year I was honored to be nominated as a candidate. I am writing today to ask for your support of LLS’s mission in its efforts to find cures for blood cancers and to assist patients and families as they battle this disease.

From March 21st to May 31st, our team goal is to raise $150,000 which will go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding goal: a world without blood cancers.  If we raise $50K by May 31st, we can connect our team’s name to an LLS-funded research portfolio to honor our efforts to help people with blood cancers.

I am fighting to end blood cancer in honor of kids like Trace and Evan.

Trace was diagnosed with High-Grade B-Cell Lymphoma on July 1st, 2022, at just 15 years old. A healthy football player, wrestler, and soon-to-be high school sophomore, a cancer diagnosis was a complete shock for him and his family. Luckily, Trace was able to receive care at one of the best oncology units in the world, Texas Children’s Hospital. He spent roughly three months in the hospital while receiving five cycles of chemotherapy, forcing him to miss the first semester of his sophomore year

Evan was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at age 4. And after the first 30 days of treatment, unfortunately there was still detectable leukemia in Evan’s bone marrow, and he had a change in his course of treatment. He was selected for a clinical trial where he received continuous infusion of this immunotherapy through a backpack for 28 days. After 1 year and 1 month of frontline treatment, Evan is now in maintenance and is back at school thriving! The end of his treatment is August 24th, 2024.

Now more than ever, we need to take initiative and shine light on this scary and deadly disease. I am fighting for kids like Trace & Evan! Will you help me make an impact?

LLS is an organization that is making an impact with the dollars it raises, and I’m proud to be associated with LLS.

This is where you come in. Please make a tax-deductible contribution to LLS. You can also mail your tax-deductible contribution to me at 1000 Main St, Suite 2300 Houston, TX 77002.

Please make checks payable to “The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society” and print Billy Bray in the memo section.

All donations received will support LLS’s overall mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. I thank you in advance for supporting this incredible need. I’ll keep you posted on how the campaign goes. For now, I am grateful for your friendship and support.

Thank you in advance for your support!

This is a fabulous list of local organizations! The large majority of them are posting their volunteer needs in the Volunteer Houston portal at http://www.volunteerhou.org – a free volunteer connection web portal provided to the entire Gulf Coast Region.
