Continuing Disability Reviews and Program Integrity: What it Means For Your Clients
The presentation will update practitioners on the Social Security Administration’s Inspector General’s Report of November 2021 on program operations and program integrity. Specifically, the representation will examine the IG’s findings about overpayments to beneficiaries and the Administration’s initiative to recover overpayments.  The presentation will focus on the Administration’s use of continuing disability reviews as the primary mechanism of recovering overpayments, and what that means for beneficiaries and practitioners. The presentation will also address changes in the frequency of CDRs and what a representative should do when preparing and presenting a case on review.
