Following her insights, a panel of distinguished industry professionals will share their transformative experiences and the career boosts from active board service. About the Keynote Speaker:

Angela Burgess currently serves as the Executive Director of RaiseUp Families through her company, Broad Oaks Consulting, LLC. A former philanthropic director and financial planning executive, she now serves as a trusted advisor to not-for-profit organizations on strategic planning, revenue generation, and investment development. With over 20 years of experience, she is a compassionate, business-minded leader and clear communicator who develops concrete, achievable strategies that create financial stability and drive growth in reach and impact. Angela participates in a prison ministry through The Order of Malta and has been a mentor with Big Brother Big Sisters of Houston. She currently serves on the International Committee of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and is a Court Appointed Guardian ad Litem through Child Advocates of Houston. Angela earned her B.A from Central College in Pella, IA, graduating Cum Laude with a double major in Spanish and Communication Studies, with an emphasis in rhetoric. A native Iowan, Angela currently lives in Houston, TX with her husband, Gary. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

About the Panelists:

Megan Gall, Loaned Executive, is currently in between roles at ExxonMobil as a former Analytics Product Manager and a future Supply Chain planning leader. Currently, she is on a 3-month loan as a workplace campaign executive at United Way of Greater Houston. She has an eclectic and successful 20+ year track record in facilitating the complex objectives of international oil and gas, commercial real estate, and Big 4 organizations. Megan’s professional development and contributions have been varied, with a focus on acting as a key business partner to drive a robust continuous improvement strategy, centered upon introducing world-class business processes, promoting data-driven decision making, minimizing risk. She has executed numerous, often simultaneous transformations, and confidently navigating challenging situations. Megan obtained an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and studied Accounting at Bucknell University in Pennsylvania.

Megan is passionate about her work in the community. Over the past couple of years, she has spent time helping refugees resettle and participated in the partner investment process at United Way of Greater Houston. Megan is currently on the board of directors at DiscoverU, a non-for-profit providing equal opportunity to students seeking out-of-school experiential learning.

Mindy Bradley is a principal with the law firm of McKinney Taylor, where her primary focus is insurance coverage and helping her partners with heavy lifting on motion practice. She has been practicing law for almost 30 years. Mindy served on the RaiseUp Families Board of Directors from 2017 to 2023, and was honored to serve as President of the Board for her last two years. She is currently serving on the Board of Directors for Spring Branch Education Fund, and volunteers as a mentor at Spring Woods Middle School. She has also been active in her sorority, Delta Delta Delta, serving as the chair of recruitment for Houston for Texas A&M from 2018-2022. Mindy is also active in her church, Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, serving as a Life Group Leader for her daughter from sixth grade to senior year of high school and on the Pastoral Nominating Committee. Mindy graduated with a degree in business from the University of Texas and her law degree from Texas Tech. She is married to David, and together they have three kids, two grown and one bonus baby. Mindy is happiest when she’s with all of her family at the beach.

Angela John has over 16 years of leadership experience in the energy sector, including 11 years leading energy supply and trading teams and over 5 years developing commercial strategies for the energy transition.

In 2021, Angela became an Independent Director for Parkland Corporation, a food and convenience store operator and independent fuel supplier listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Previously, Angela was Director of Innovation at Williams where she created the New Energy Ventures strategy and organization design to build new businesses for our clean energy future and progress Williams’ plans toward net zero.

Previously, Angela gained a deep understanding of energy through her 27-year career with BP. In her last role, she created deal structures to support financing renewable and low carbon projects. Prior to that, Angela was responsible for building energy commodity businesses and held a variety of leadership positions including Senior Vice President Marketing and Origination and Vice President Marketing and Supply. During this time, Angela also served on the Board of the National Propane Gas Association in roles including Supplier Section Chair and Vice-Chair of the Propane Supply and Logistics Committee.

Angela earned a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston.

Jeannie Gardner is the Global Leader Digital & Asset Transformation at KBC Advanced Technologies, a Yokogawa Company. In this role she is focused on delivering a comprehensive Digital & Asset Transformation strategy for KBC’s customers worldwide. Prior to joining KBC she spent 16 years at Shell as a business operations leader. She is a large-scale business transformation expert and has been instrumental in delivering digital transformation, process optimization & standardization projects and business strategies that have resulted in revenue acceleration for the business. Jeannie is very active in the community. She currently serves as board chair for Girls Inc. Greater Houston, is a founding member of Impact100 Houston and an Advisory Board member of Women’s Energy Network Houston. She has previously served as President of Women’s Energy Network Houston, first National President of Women’s Energy Network, Board Chair of The Foundation for the Women’s Energy Network, President of the Society of Women Engineers Houston Area Section, President of the National Organization for the Advancement of Black Chemist and Chemical Engineers and on the board & advisory Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Houston.
