MEET THE PRESENTER
Gayla Rawlinson Maynard is a nationally Certified Grants Professional (GPC)
with over 20 years’ experience. She was the former Director of the Center
for Grants Development division with Harris County Department of Education.
Her grant work ranged from foundation and corporate sponsorships/proposals
to large collaborative government grants. She coordinated proposal
development processes, bringing in over $166 million to the greater Houston
area. She has over 25 years in leadership positions, coaching, training,
and supervising others. Prior to coming to HCDE as its first grants
specialist and grant office director, Mrs. Maynard worked at the University
of Houston as the Program Manager of The Funding Source, and as an adjunct
professor. She has a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Stephen F.
Austin State University and a master’s degree in Sociology/Social Research
from Sam Houston State University.
