Jeff Bartlett – Managing Partner, Pontem Energy LLC

Jeff Bartlett brings more than 30 years of experience in the energy sector, combining deep technical expertise with a strong track record in energy investment and asset management. He co-founded Pontem Energy Capital in 2000, where he has led several successful ventures, including the acquisition of Ovintiv’s Eagle Ford assets in 2021 alongside co-investors. Under his leadership, the assets were strategically developed and later sold to Devon Energy in 2022, delivering strong returns to investors.

Prior to founding Pontem, Jeff managed over $2 billion in private debt and equity investments in the energy space through roles at HPS Partners, Apollo, and Guggenheim Partners. His career began as a Petroleum Engineer with ARCO, followed by positions in investment banking at Merrill Lynch and on the oil and gas finance team at Enron Corp.

Jeff holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Kansas and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas.
