The Challenges Facing Women in Science and Technology

IN-PERSON: “Women have made substantial contributions to science throughout the course of history, despite gender biases that have systematically excluded them from participating in the scientific enterprise. Today, women remain vastly underrepresented in the global STEM workforce, especially in senior positions.

“At Baker Hall on October 30, neuroscientist and geneticist Dr. [Huda Zoghbi](https://www.bcm.edu/people-search/huda-zoghbi-33774), environmental scientist and biologist [Cullen Geiselman Muse](https://harcresearch.org/people/cullen-k-geiselman-phd/) and chemical engineer [Aleida Rios](https://raeng.org.uk/about-us/fellowship/new-fellows-2021/aleida-rios-freng-usa-uk) will discuss their personal experiences and the barriers that women face in STEM fields.”
