The 13th Annual Best Little Cowboy Gathering In Texas

The Best Little Cowboy Gathering promotes the Cowboy Culture with a variety of music emphasizing western swing, country and old cowboy classics. Family style entertainment is served up with true western flavor at the Fayette Country Fairgrounds, overlooking the Colorado River Valley, in La Grange, Texas.
DUE TO CONCERNS WITH THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC, THIS EVENT IS BEING MOVED TO 2022. We are very disappointed that we won’t be able to share our festival with you this year.
This is a great family event for all ages. There is music and dancing by top music performers, BBQ cook-off, chuckwagon exhibits, horse clinics, outdoor cooking demonstrations, dutch oven exhibits, fiddle extravaganza, arts and craft exhibits, blacksmith demonstrations, and food booths. LOTS of children’s events including mutton bustin’, face painting, treasure hunts, and bouncy houses. All music and most other events are under a roof. The Fayette County Fair Grounds is on a bluff over looking the Colorado River Valley. With it’s abundant trees and beautiful view, it is the perfect setting for such an event. Rain or shine, this event is a blast! Always the second full weekend in March.
Country, Western Swing, and Western music performed by top entertainers. This years 2022 line-up includes: Justin Trevino, T.G. Sheppard, John Slaughter, Jody Nix, Jake Worthington, Steve Helm, Rick Trevino, Jody Booth and more. Your admission gets you to all of these events and much more. Proceeds benefit area youth!
Bring a JACKET, temperatures plummet after dark. Sunscreen and camp chairs are recommend for the dog shows and horse clinic.

Enclosed Outdoor Stage with Wooden Dance Floor
Many new additions have been added to our enclosed outdoor stage. A wooden dance floor to shuffle those boots on too! Expansion on the stage was done along with the ability to enclose the whole stage in case the weather doesn’t cooperate with us.
COME EARLY AND STAY AN EXTRA DAY. Fayette County is full of unique and historical places. La Grange has a great downtown area. You will want to tour The Texas Quilt Museum, then walk around our old time square full of shopping and dining. The Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center offers a rich cultural experience of our Texas ancestors and culture still present today. Experience historic Texas sites at Monument Hill and Kreische Brewery. Take the kids to visit the Jersey Barnyard where a friendly guide takes you on a guided educational tour to feed/pet the barnyard animals and see their working family Jersey dairy. Tour the Texas Heroes Museum located inside the Old Jail built in 1883 that honors Texas Veterans who have served from the time of the Texas Revolution to present day. Our Lake Fayette boasts some off the best fishing in the state. The city of Schulenburg draws many visitors to their beautiful Painted Churches. The towns of Round Top, Warrenton, Carmine and Fayetteville are full of antiques, music, art, shopping, food, historical buildings and much more.

Enjoy a legendary mix of artists coming together for The Fiddle Extravaganza! See Jody Nix & The Texas Cowboys featuring other fine fiddlers for a truly unique musical hour!
Western Arts & Crafts
Artists and craftsman from various backgrounds showcase their cowboy art, fine jewelry, vintage furniture, custom clothing, and many other exhibits. Browse the exhibit hall to find that special memento of the Cowboy Gathering. Vendor applications are available on our website.
Best Little Cook-Off In Texas
Who’s the best cook? Take the challenge for some hard work and good old fun. Teams consist of chief cook and five team members. Great smells and tastes for everyone! Especially the margaritas Friday night! This cook-off is sanctioned by the Lone Star BBQ Association. Applications are available on our website with discounts available for paying in advance.
Children of all ages will enjoy activities throughout the day.
Don’t forget to bring a jacket!
