Space Age Christmas Trees: World’s Biggest Mega-Show at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum
December 4 @ 10:00 am – 5:00 pm CST
1940 Air Terminal Museum presents Space Age Christmas Trees: World’s Biggest Mega-Show, a special edition of its annual display for the 2020 holiday season, featuring more than 100 vintage aluminum Christmas trees from all of the major manufacturers.
Curated by the authors of The Evergleam Book, the temporary exhibit showcases so many gleaming and glimmering vintage aluminum Christmas trees under one room for the first time.
Visitors will also be able to spy color wheels, rotating stands, halo boards and mirrors, and every sort of aluminum tree accessory.
Brand new for this year is an interactive Mid-Century Modern Holiday Pad, with a swanky mockup featuring a George Nelson Coconut Chair, Saarinen Tulip Table, Mirro Medallion barware, an iconic cardboard fireplace, and a rafter-busting aluminum Christmas tree.
The exhibit is open daily from Friday, November 27 through Sunday, January 3, 2021. The museum is always closed on Monday. It will also be closed on Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24, 2020; Christmas Day, December 25, 2020; and New Year’s Day, January 1, 2021.
