In this interactive workshop, we’ll shine a light on the experiences and success factors for women business owners including speed to cash flow break-even and access to capital. With more than two decades of experience in banking, impact philanthropy, employee engagement, and corporate citizenship, Flores is responsible for combining financial resources with business expertise to help underserved and diverse entrepreneurs expand their contribution to the economy and their ability to provide jobs. She also leads Wells Fargo’s $420 million Open for Business Fund to support the immediate and long-term needs of small businesses that were negatively impacted by the effects of COVID-19. Most recently, she served as Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Bank of the West, where she led the company’s strategy for small business engagement and environmental sustainability, including the creation of a new $30 million investment fund with community development financial institutions and the development of a $1 billion commitment to renewable and clean energy. Prior to her role with Bank of the West, Flores spent a decade in community development at Citigroup and also held roles at the Congress of California Seniors, Greenlining Institute, and the California State Legislature.
An active community leader, Flores is based in San Francisco and serves on the Board of Directors for the Association for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO), Harlem Grown, and volunteers as a mentor for start-up entrepreneurs through the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center’s Milestone Maker program. She is also a member of the Mastercard Strive USA Advisory Committee.
Alexandra Rosen is the Senior Director of GoDaddy Venture Forward, a multi-year, international research initiative that quantifies the growth and outsized economic impact made by more than 20 million microbusinesses and shines a light on the entrepreneurs who start them. Alex partners with policymakers, economists and organizations to use this data to support entrepreneurs at every stage, with the goal of making opportunities more inclusive for all.
Throughout her career, Alex has established meaningful partnerships and developed unique programs globally in technology, sports and live entertainment for brands like Google, Cisco and GoDaddy. Her work spans the Internet of Everything, Live Nation, Rio 2016 Olympics, and Global Citizen among others. She graduated from Stanford University with an undergraduate degree in economics and poetry, and from UCLA Anderson School of Management with an MBA. Passionate about education and community, Alex mentors startups and small businesses, and was an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at the UCLA Anderson Venture Accelerator.
Nicola Corzine serves as the Executive Director of the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center, a non-profit that delivers world-class resources and mentoring to enable every entrepreneur across the globe to realize their maximum potential. As Executive Director, Nicola is responsible for strategic and operational leadership that help drive research, programing, fundraising, and operations for the organization.
Nicola brings over 17 years of strategic business development and entrepreneurial thought leadership programming experience to the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center, most recently in her role as Deal Manager for the Band of Angels, a position held since 2004 as well as Investment Partner in the 2009 Acorn fund which includes investments in Practice Fusion, Niveus Medical, and Flywheel, one of the biggest names in the E-hailing industry. During her time at the Band, she was as an early advisor to Startup America and led the development of the first national and regional Angel Capital Association conferences.
Prior to Band of Angels, Nicola was the founder and executive director of Financing Partners, an organization that delivered education to both entrepreneurs and investors to enable them to reach their mutual objectives. Before Band of Angels, she was part of three startup companies in the US and UK.
Nicola is a frequent speaker on angel investing, technology trends and seed financing at Universities including Stanford, Wharton and Duke, national conferences, including IEEE Women in Engineering, NVCA and Innovation Enterprise, and has served as a formation advisor to several regional and international angel groups and seed funds.
