As with past Summits, CEC is hosting a diverse gathering of its members as well as influential leaders, subject matter experts, educators, enthusiasts, volunteers and passionate citizens for a day of inspiration, education and collaboration!

Energized by this year’s theme, we are excited to be joined by a line up speakers who are leaders in the field helping to advance environmental issues through communications, policy, community initiatives, and commerce (photos and bios below).

We are extremely excited to once again gather, in person, with the environmental community that has made CEC a vital part of the fabric of our society!
**Venue:**
The event will take place at [University of Houston – Downtown’s Center for Urban Agriculture and Sustainability (CUAS)](https://www.uhd.edu/academics/sciences/center-for-urban-agriculture-and-sustainability/Pages/default.aspx), in the heart of downtown Houston. Conveniently located to allow visitors to commute via walking, biking or metro. Paid parking is also available for those driving private vehicles. The event will kick off with a planet-friendly lunch provided by [Bloom Foods](https://www.eatbloom.com/) which will feature an array of delicious plant-based sandwiches, a pesto-quinoa salad and green tea. Attendees will enjoy coffee generously donated by [Greenway Coffee](https://greenwaycoffee.com/) and cookies generously donated by [Blackwood Farms](https://blackwoodland.org/) through the afternoon.
**Sustainability Statement:**
We are endeavoring to create a zero-waste event. With that in mind, we are aiming for minimal packaging. Any residual waste will be composted as much as possible by our host, UHD CUAS.
Please bring reusable cups, utensils and beverage containers. A water refill station is located in the hallway and available throughout the event.
