ABOUT KIDS MEALS: Kids’ Meals is a daily home delivery meal program for more than 3,000 preschool-aged children living in severe poverty and the peak of school closures feeding over 7,000 children a day!

When the Texas Winter Storm hit Houston on February 14, 2021, it left millions of people without power and water and access to food. In those eight days, the Winter Storm also hit the Kids’ Meals facility, ruining thousands of pounds of meat, cheese, bread, and milk that should have gone to hungry children in our city. Along with those meals were milk and juice boxes, snacks and countless other food items that had to be thrown out after too many hours without refrigeration.  For the first time in our history, during the Texas Winter Storm of February 2021, Kids’ Meals was without sufficient food, volunteers, staff and facilities to provide meals to our children. We did not sit idle, however. Kids’ Meals got to work running social media campaigns and making calls for monetary donations, food and volunteers. Now the Global Empowerment Mission along with Bethenny Frankel’s #BStrong Initiative contributing to these volunteer efforts and donations.

Kids’ Meals, Inc. has a 14-year track record of success as a front-line responder in reaching deeply into poverty-stricken neighborhoods to provide children relief from severe food insecurity and food deserts.
