Antwone Lavon “Tony” Taulton, a native of Waco, Texas was born on April 13, 1987. Taulton was a 3-year graduate at the A.J. Moore Academy in Waco, Texas. Taulton attended the University of Central Oklahoma, Baylor University and the Minnesota Graduate School of Theology.
In early 2011, Taulton spent several weeks living the homeless lifestyle in Downtown Oklahoma City in search of the root of the homeless epidemic and to film “A Day in Our Shoes”. The “A Day in Our Shoes” documentary is an up-close and personal portrait of some of the people Taulton encountered on his journey. The film examines the inner workings of a community of homeless people who do not live in shelters or missions but rather make their homes on the streets. The “A Day in our Shoes” project worked with homeless alliances and organizations to empower the homeless to independence, and equal treatment.
Taulton was a member of the Waco, Texas Poverty Task Team.
In January 2012 at the age of 24, Taulton declared his intent to pursue the office of Mayor of Waco, Texas. Taulton officially entered the Mayoral Race on February 27, 2012 and faced District 5 Councilman and Mayor Pro-Tem Malcolm Duncan Jr. in the May 12th General Election and was defeated by a 78% to 22% margin.
In 2016, Taulton founded Midwest Bus Lines in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, which was later renamed RoadLiner Bus LLC.
In early 2017 at the age of 29, Taulton founded The Corsicana Bowl, an annual NCAA Division II post-season bowl game, and served as Executive Director from 2017-2019. In 2019, The Corsicana Bowl was acquired by a local group and renamed the Heritage Bowl. The Heritage Bowl committee honored Taulton by naming the yearly game MVP Award after him, The Antwone “Tony” Taulton MVP Trophy.
In 2020, Taulton was named the CEO of EntryStub, an online self-served event ticketing and registration platform that gives Event Organizers the ability to sell tickets, register attendees, and promote events.
