The Astrogeology of the Artemis Exploration Zone

July 14, 2023 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

HYBRID: The [Johnson Space Center Astronomical Society](http://jscas.net/) presents Lunar and Planetary Institute principal scientist [Dr. David Kring](https://www.lpi.usra.edu/science/staff/kring/) in a talk tiled “The Astrogeology of the Artemis Exploration Zone.”

Here is the description of Dr Kring’s recent similar talk for LPI’s [Cosmic Explorations](https://www.lpi.usra.edu/education/cosmic-explorations/) series: “”[Artemis III](https://www.nasa.gov/specials/artemis/) astronauts will land on a fascinatingly cold and rugged terrain in the lunar south polar region. Far different than terrains traversed by Apollo astronauts, the south-polar terrain presents new and exciting scientific opportunities to learn more about the Moon. Dr. Kring will discuss this unique environment and what astronauts may encounter during traverses of this unexplored region.”

The meeting can be accessed by going to the JSCAS YouTube Channel at the link: [https://www.youtube.com/c/JSCAstronomicalSociety](https://www.youtube.com/c/JSCAstronomicalSociety)
