Military Child Day In The Park

April is designated as the Month of the Military Child, underscoring the important role military children play in the armed forces community. Sponsored by the Department of Defense Military Community and Family Policy, the Month of the Military Child is a time to applaud military families and their children for the daily sacrifices and the challenges they overcome.

In Lieu of Military Child Month, your local GCU Military University Development Counselor is hosting a Military Child Day with plenty of fun activities for the whole family.

Memorial Park, a municipal park in Houston, Texas, is one of the largest urban parks in the United States. A favorite among Houston’s joggers, Memorial Park also features tennis courts, playing fields, a fitness center, swimming pool and six miles of mountain and recreational bike trails along the bayous.

One lap jogging or walking around Memorial Park is 2.88 miles, and there are distance markers located every 1/4 mile, in both directions.

The 300-acre Memorial Park Golf Course is rated among the top municipal golf courses in the nation.
